JOB DESCRIPTION FOR Network/System Administrator

JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced Network/System Administrator to manage and maintain our network and system infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in the insurance sector, and possess a strong combination of technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.



REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network/System Administrator, preferably in the insurance sector.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining network infrastructure and Windows/Linux-based systems.
  • Strong knowledge of security measures and protocols, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Proficiency in network and system monitoring tools and techniques.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or RHCSA are a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Manage and maintain the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Administer Windows and Linux servers, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
    • Design and implement network upgrades and expansions to accommodate company growth.
    • Implement security measures such as firewall rules, antivirus solutions, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to protect against cyber threats.
    • Monitor network and system performance using monitoring tools and conduct regular audits to identify and address performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.
    • Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
    • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patches, and system optimizations.
    • Maintain documentation of network and system configurations, policies, and procedures for reference and compliance purposes.
    • Collaborate with IT support, security, and operations teams to investigate and resolve network and system-related issues in a timely manner.
